As its name suggests, this property was historically used as pastures for sheep grazing, the traces of which are visible in the fields today. At just under 170 acres, the Sheep Common’s trails wind through a variety of habitat types, leading visitors through pitch pine forests, scrub oak shrublands, and open grasslands. This property is a gateway to Pout Pond Road and the Middle Moors to the east, and to the west the trail connects directly to the Polpis Road bike path.
Just off the parking area, there is a small trail loop known as the Fairy Trail. This area serves as a designated space to construct small fairy houses, and explore those already in place!
