Other methods employed by the Land Bank for habitat management are routine mowing and tree removal. There are many benefits to these methods, including setting back woody growth, decreasing shade, reducing competition for herbaceous species, and creating disturbance. The Land Bank field crew routinely mows our early successional properties anywhere from once a year to once every 3-5 years.
